The Kawa Model began with a group of occupational therapists in Japan who wanted a different way of sitting with a client: not assessing, not categorising; but asking, simply, how they want their life to flow. What they created has since found its way into practice across six continents and into the curricula of over 500 OT programmes worldwide.
The model was always meant to travel freely. The Kawa Model Made Easy has been a free resource since 2010, and it will stay that way.
What's changing is what comes next.
The Kawa Model's online presence is due for an upgrade, and the renovations start this year.
Although we've had an online home for years, what's changing is what that home can become: a unified community where practitioners can develop their practice together, contribute to the model's growth, and stay connected to the work that called them to this magnificent profession in the first place.
